After the fireworks, came the ring
Meet Aren and Julia — two history lovers who met while studying at Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania.
After meeting with Aren to plan this proposal, I immediately knew the scenery would be perfect for such a magical moment. We were blessed to have two angels helping us behind the scenes. One was her best friend from college, doing all he could to stay hidden behind trees and bushes so he wouldn’t be spotted while recording the proposal. The second was one of their former professors, who was kind enough to grant us access to one of the campus buildings.
I was “pretending” to be a student on campus (from far away, I might actually look like one—LOL), just chilling in one of the chairs by the building. It was the only spot where I could photograph the proposal no matter where they ended up standing.
While they were walking in front of the building, her best friend was hiding behind some trees. Julia was curious to see if one of the doors to the building was open. As you might guess, on a Sunday afternoon in the middle of summer, those doors were definitely locked.
Love was the major after all
After all the excitement was shared with her best friend, I stepped a little closer to be more noticeable—and her reaction was amazing! I honestly love capturing these little moments of expression, the kind that not even a thousand words could fully describe.
It brings me true joy to help couples through this process, offering all the support they need. Once we're at the photoshoot, everything flows organically.
