Scripture & Strangers is a storytelling portrait experience that brings together two individuals meeting for the very first time through a shared connection to scripture. Each participant enters the experience with a Bible verse that has shaped their faith, perspective, or journey in life.
During the session, the two strangers meet and engage in a guided conversation about the verse that resonates with them. They reflect on its meaning, the season of life it has spoken into, and how their faith influences the way they see relationships, purpose, and connection.
Through natural conversation and thoughtful prompts, I document these moments through candid and portrait photography—capturing authentic expressions, reflection, and the quiet beauty of human connection.
This experience is not about matchmaking or performance. It is about creating space for meaningful conversation, shared faith, and genuine interaction between two people who may have never crossed paths otherwise.

No. Participants from different Christian denominations or faith backgrounds are welcome. The purpose of the experience is to reflect on a meaningful Bible verse and the personal impact it has had on your life.
Will I know the person I’m meeting beforehand?
No. The experience is designed for two individuals who have never met before. Participants are thoughtfully matched based on the Bible verse they submit or similar themes within scripture.
Is this a dating experience?
No. Scripture & Strangers is not intended to be a matchmaking or dating event. The focus of the experience is meaningful conversation, faith reflection, and authentic human connection. It is the participant's option if they would like to meet again on their own.
Where will the session take place?
Sessions will take place at my photography studio or a selected location in the Central Pennsylvania area.
How long does the session last?
The experience typically lasts about 45 minutes to 1 hour, allowing time for conversation and portraits.
Will the photos or conversation be shared publicly?
Some photos from the session may be shared as part of the storytelling project on my website or social media platforms. Participants will be informed in advance and will provide consent before participating.
Is there a cost to participate?
Participation in this project will have a total fee of $50, to cover any props or materials used in the creative storytelling series.

How is participant safety handled during this experience?
The Scripture & Strangers experience takes place in a safe, guided environment during a scheduled photography session. As the photographer and host, I facilitate the introduction and conversation prompts throughout the session to ensure a respectful and comfortable atmosphere for both participants. Participants are never left alone without guidance during the experience, and the focus remains on thoughtful conversation and storytelling.
How are participants selected?
Due to the nature of this storytelling project, a limited number of participants will be selected for each session. Participants are thoughtfully paired based on the Bible verse they submit and the themes reflected in their responses. If selected, you will be contacted with further details about scheduling and the experience.
